48. Connaught Place, New Delhi
Play /plei/ is to fiddle or tamper with
Lab /’lab/ is a place for experiments, teaching, research, learning and making
We call our workshops PlayLabs because this is where we tinker around with stuff – the stuff of theatre, the stuff of perception and of experience – all in a spirit of playful inquiry.
The Saturday Sessions are for children between 9 and 13 years old who are REALLY VERY INTERESTED in theatre. SO INTERESTED that they are willing to give over their Saturday mornings to it.
Over the course of 15 sessions we will be developing a play/performance with the participants which will be shown to the public in January 2018.
The sessions will focus on three primary questions:
1. What makes a good story?
2. What kind of story do we want to tell?
3. How do you go about telling this story?
These questions will be explored through theatre games and exercises. Participants will move towards creating a performance, at the same time learning about how a performace or play is put together. The emphasis is as much on process as it is on the performance.
