An ordinary seeming woman with just the same pairs of hands, legs and eyes like you and me. Yet, she hears more than what is said; she observes more than what is shown. She, thus, is a superwoman, or we also call her a – ‘Mother’. Well, what is there that a mother can’t achieve? Setting the sails high, climbing the highest peaks, a mother today can achieve whatever she sets her eyes upon. Isn’t that why we see a surge of mom entrepreneurs or, as the genx would term it as – ‘mompreneurs’? There isn’t even one such field into which an Indian mother wouldn’t have embarked.
Encouraging all the mother’s to step out into this entrepreneurial world, GurgaonMoms started an initiative ‘She Made It’. This initiative called out to various mompreneurs who are excelling in their visions and efforts. Celebrating the same, our team along with the mentors hosted a ‘Mentoring Meet’ at the Vatika Business Centre, MG road.
10 finalists of the She Made It- An Elevator Pitch Contest for The Mom Achievers Summit 2018 attended the session. The mentors Shrikant Shastri and Shweta Markendya had an interactive session with their respective groups. The contestants, all enterprising moms from our community spoke about their respective ventures, their USP, and their funding requirements. Srikant based on his vast experience guided each participant individual as per their venture and requirement. He quoted
“Finding a good investor is like finding the perfect partner for marriage .”
Shweta also guided her group by talking about the importance of presentation skills and what all should be included and excluded in the presentation. Individual feedback was also provided by her and the contestants were apprised about the preparations required for the finale.
We are glad that the mentoring session could start on time as everything was arranged to perfection at the Vatika Business Centre. Refreshments like tea and coffee were readily arranged on call and the session could run smoothly with no technical glitch.
The session ended by the mentors scheduling their one-one telephonic sessions with the participants in order to prepare them for the mock presentation session next week, just before the She Made It-An Elevator Pitch Contest on 5th May 2018 and The Mom Achievers Summit.
“The workshop on Saturday was very enlightening. Not only did Shweta help channelize our thoughts and ponder over the important aspects of our businesses, we also learned from the other participants. I would say, the overall interaction helped us articulate our thoughts on our b-plan better. I am now looking forward to the one on one interaction with Shweta.”
