6am-Huda City Center metro station.
He was lean…tall and casually dressed like any guy of his age would. His bag was thrown on one side of his shoulder….perhaps it had books and a laptop…a college goer it seemed.
He was wearing*head phones..and his body was moving in a slow rhythm..as his head tossed with the bass..he sure was enjoying the music…
He looked like a decent guy from a sound background…his body language was respectful towards others…yet he seemed so lost in his own world…he would casually look around…and then contain himself back to his digital…nah virtual world…
The doors of the metro slide open and everybody zooms in…
He looks around…finds no place to sit…so eventually sits on the corner seat…

People are settling down…some ladies are fixing their hair…or makeup..while some girls are busy reading their fav novels…some are listening to songs..n few people are already talking on phones…
One could see some girls blushing …the pinkish peachy tone on their cheeks was giving away the secret…that who could possibly be on the other end of the phone…

Metro stops at iffco…..more people get in…
Next station is MG road…..ah some more people manage to board the metro …
The compartment looks breathable still….only two people haven’t got the seat…one is a guy in his 20s and this very attractive teenage girl….clad in a tattered denims…a white tank top…wearing more than a dozen metal bangles….black nail paint ….kohl-laden eyes…long luscious black hair…left loose….a funky sling bag and a very girly pink cover protecting her cell phone…ah the typical mascot of teenage girl…..
She looks around…n finds no place to sit…
She walks close to this guy…n points out her finger…
“Hey you…get up” ah she sounded very uncivil contrary to her sweet looks…

The boy looked around..n gestured…” me?”
“Who else….yeah dude get up…”
“But….what happened…why do you want me to get up,” he asked in a fractious tone…
“Can’t you read?” She snarled…..
He looked up…where she was pointing…
“For old people and handicap”-it read…
“Ah so?” He asked…
“So?”……her face grew brutish in its sullen hate……
“Why should I vacate the seat?” He shrugged his shoulders…
“Dude it seems you can’t read….this seat is reserved for handicap or old…” she rolled her eyes….n delivered her words in the most sarcastic way possible…
“Ah well…neither you look old…nor you are handicap by any standards..” he said..with a smirk.
“But I am a girl…” she said with such an authoritative manner …lifting her shoulders up
Everyone was looking at them by now…n enjoying the conversation…..some people were making faces…some were laughing…some were even found sniggering…..
“You heard me…I am a girl” she almost told him to shape up or ship out…
Now the conversation had become the sore point…n it looked like a major clash of egos,,

“You are a girl…I can also see that……..are you trying to use this as an excuse to make a guy of your age vacate a seat for you…while the compartment is not even filled.you have enough space to stand..without any worry of people touching you…n well if you still find it unsafe there is always a ladies compartment specially catered for you….
Just because you are offended doesn’t mean you are right….had you asked me politely or rather in a more civil way to vacate the seat , I would have done that willingly…….
You are a girl…I got that loud and clear…but tell me something…
is that your handicap…..??????????”
…..
……….
…………….
His last lines….left her speechless,,,..it made a very strong point….it was quite a thought-provoking question……..left everyone in a quandary…………..

The girl had blown her stack….she walked out of this compartment….hurling abuses at him…
“Disgusting people…….”…that was the last he heard from her…

Disgusting……????really????
Was he really being disgusting….???
He actually behaved throughout with a certain sangfroid……and continued to do so as he got up to offer his seat to an old gentleman who had just boarded the metro…

I hope we are not doing the same…..are we?
