Dhaba Chicken: Indian dhaba style masala chicken
- 1 whole chicken (cut into 8-12 pieces)
- Red chilli powder
- Turmeric powder
- 4-5 large onions
- Chopped garlic( 4-5 cloves)
- Whole jeera(1.5 tsp)
- MDH chicken masala
- Roasted dry coriander seeds ( 1tsp)
- Fresh Coriander
Take 1 whole chicken (cut into 8-12 pieces). Wash it and make 2-3 slits on each piece. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder to taste .Rub it nicely onto the chicken & leave aside for a min. of 30 mins. Shallow fry the chicken and keep aside.
Thinly slice about 4-5 large onions. Saute them till dark brown. Grind them to a fine paste when cool. Now heat oil in kadai , add chopped garlic( 4-5 cloves), whole jeera(1.5 tsp) and onion paste and fry on high flame for 1-2 mins . Add tomato puree(3/4 cup) & ginger paste and sauté on medium flame for 3-4 mins .Now add the dry masalas, haldi powder, red chilli powder, salt, MDH chicken masala to taste. Add roasted dry coriander seeds ( 1tsp). Cook the masala till done . Add the fried chicken and sauté on high flame for 2-3 mins . Add some water (1cup) , bring to a boil and then cover & cook on medium to low flame till done . Garnish with fresh coriander.
Serve hot with rotis, parathas or rice
