We all love flowers and some of us plant flowers every year during wintertime so that we can have our own little flower garden during springtime. Sweet peas, petunias, dahlias, begonias and so many more. The fragrance of these flowers is magical. For me, the only sad part about planting seasonal flowering plants is that they die in the summertime.

Now the question arises, what do with the planter? Until a few I would tell my Gardner, to take the pots away. But then I realized, why not plant something for the summers as well. They don’t always have to be flowers. You could also have a perennial plant (something that lives for more than two years).

Try and have earthen or clay cots and avoid plastic pots. I have tried to compile a list of these plants that you have in small/medium size pots.

If you really want to grow flowers. Then you could grow the following:

  • Marigold flowers
  • Zinnia
  • Nasturtium
  • Portulaca
  • Cosmos
  • Balsam
  • Gaillardia
