Sumi Paul, started a multi-designer studio and aptly named it ‘Being Different’ for precisely this reason. Making daily wear clothing designer styled, chic, and trendy. A Masters in Bengali Literature, it was sheer 'passion for fashion,' as she says that brought her into this industry.
‘Being Different’ offers a platform to upcoming and well-established designers to showcase their works. “We want to encourage new and out of the box designers but are also very selective about who we shortlist and showcase at the store as we want to offer only the best to our clients,” said Sumi.

We, at GurgaonMoms caught up with designer Nandini of Nandini Officiel. Nandini Officiel is a brand that is the brain-child of two college buddies Sonal Jain and Nandini Chawla Dewan, both of whom love jewellery. While there is no formal training in designing, it is their love for all things beautiful and bespoke that steered them into the field of jewellery sourcing, designing, and curating. One can find jewellery starting from Rs. 350 and going upto Rs. 3000 in their collection. They also undertake bridal couture jewellery.
Being 9 months young, Being Different is brimming with ideas and innovations. “We intend to hold trunk sales, end of season sales, set up flea-markets, to encourage people to come into the studio and get a feel of the space we have created,” says Sumi.
