The world today is very competitive, everyone’s always on their toes, everyone’s in a hurry to either do something or get somewhere and the pace is definitely hard to keep up with. But summer’s the time when everyone takes a break, a breather, if you may. It’s the time we all get to spend some quality time with our loved ones. However, it isn’t uncommon for people to forget to do certain things when they’re busy juggling so many things all at once. Let’s say, for example, you forget to plan what you’d like to do for the summer.

The first thing you do is ‘don’t panic’.

Domestic Destinations

For those of you who prefer to stay closer to home and wish to beat the summer heat, Kumaon is where you should be. Kumaon is a mountainous state in Northern India. Still mostly undiscovered, Dhanachuli, Binsar & Mukteshwar are of my personal favorites. The hills rise up perfectly in symmetry over small stone houses with smoke rising up in curls. Glimpses of the Nanda Devi and Panchachuli peaks can be seen from many villages. A variety of birds like Grey Bush chats, Blue-capped Rock, Streaked Laughing Thrushes, Scarlet Minivets, Blue-fronted Redstart, Warblers, and Babblers can be spotted on moss-barked trees and in the sky. Leisurely walks through an ancient oak forest and along winding tracks down the charming village are a must do. Look into the sky at infinite stars during the night, admire mesmerizing valleys and snow-clad peaks.

For those who are a little more adventurous, there are a number of activities to keep you busy. Hike to the highest point for enchanting views, cycling, Shiv walks, village walks, Bird watching, photography, yoga, temple visits, picnics & much more.

Some of the beautiful boutique places to stay are Itmenaan Lodge, Tea Aroha, The Kumaon, Binsar Forest Retreat, The Orchard and many more.

There are many Hiking trails in Seychelles and one of them are Hiking in the Morne Mount Seychellois National Park on Mage Island. The 699 m high Trois Freres Peak offers you a magnificent view over the Victoria harbor, St Anne Marine National Park, and of the islands in the distance, La Digue, and Praslin in the distance. The point which gives its name to the national park, Morne Seychellois is the highest point on Mahe at over 900m above sea level.
