God had been unkind ….there was a stark difference in the social status of both the brothers.one was a top corporate honcho and the other one was an artist who made sculptures
He always felt that life had been unkind, one brother was the Destiny's child and the other one was the always hit by the stroke of ill fate.
Over the period of time he developed so much hatred for his brother, perhaps jealousy and his own complexes made him loathe his brother. He envied his implacable picture perfect life…fat bank balance, huge bungalow -an enviable possession, pretty wife and adorable kids, name, fame, social status and what not.
On the other hand…the younger brother barely managed his bread and butter…his pride and self-respect refused to seek help from his brother despite him offering multiple times…he felt that it was done to show him down…and eventually both the brothers had a spiteful argument…and they stopped talking to each other…they became the worst enemies ever.
Lost in these thoughts his hands continued making Ganesha statues…as Ganesh Chaturthi was round the corner…..
He was sitting near his idols-his creations..suddenly a luxurious car stops by…a man wearing a well-fitted steel grey suit…hair neatly gelled back…got down….the whiff of his fragrance smelled only richness….
He picked up one statue…and looked around…picked up another…but his heart was not contented yet…so he picked up one more….another one…and voila….finally he asked to pack up all the idols…and called up his driver.
He gave him instructions that he should coordinate with him..and send all the idols at his place.
He made the payments…and left the sculpturer in a state of pleasant shock…he had not only sold all the idols..but also sold them at three times the actual price…
This was the most joyous Ganesh Chaturthi for him…..he felt indebted …
His family was elated…perhaps the best day of their life….

Far away in the same city….at his brother's place….
"Are not all these idols beautiful….am so proud of you honey…you asked your manager to pick them all up from your brother's shop….he would never accept your help….but this is how you help him for the entire year by picking up his creations without letting him know…..but what will I do with so many…." His pretty wife chuckled with happiness and mischief….barely able to walk around with their basement filled with Ganesha statues everywhere..
"I know how self respecting he is…..he hates me but I don't….blood is thicker than water…I will continue helping him without disclosing my identity…..
Ganpati bappa moreya…..agle barbas tu jaldi aa…..jaldi aa… "he closed his moist eyes…n let the tears roll down his cheeks.
His reason of saying "jaldi aa" had a different intention and meaning altogether……………
He would again buy these statues made of "mitti" at the rate of gold,…but the joy he would derive would be far more than the price of any fortune in this world….much beyond any gold ,silver or diamonds…….
Selfless joys are unparalleled …no wealth can ever buy them.-

Happy Ganesh chaturthi to all my friends…
